Lesson Overview: How to Greet Someone in English

Aloha, everyone! In this lesson, we will learn how to greet each other and introduce ourselves in the English and Spanish languages. While Chinese and Hindi have the highest number of speakers in the worldaccording to One World Nations Online, English and Spanish are arguably the most widely-spoken languages in the world, and certainly on the American continent. Indeed, the English- and Spanish-speaking worlds share many borders, and a rich history of cultural exchange and diffusion. From the Tex-Mex cuisine and Tejano music of the US-Mexico border, to the salsa sound that originated in the Cuban and Puerto Rican diaspora of New York City, but soon spread to become one of the most popular rhythms in all of Latin America, one thing is certain: the mixture always has a lot of flavor!

In this lesson, you will learn some formal and informal greetings in the English language, and how to form simple sentences in the English language using the verb "BE". With these tools, you will be able to greet your English-speaking friends in an appropriate way, as well as introduce yourself with some basic personal information. The learning process will be as follows:
