IMA 4: Linear Instructional Material - Captivate Lecture

About IMA 4

Of all the projects that we did in Dr. Park's EME 6208: Interactive Media course, IMA 4 was undoubtedly the most demanding. For this assignment, we were tasked with designing and developing a short lecture using Adobe Captivate (2019), which is considered one of the most powerful e-Learning authoring tools, alonside Articulate Storyline 360. Educational Value of IMA 4

For this assignment, we were given the option of creating either Branched or Linear Insructional Material in Adobe Captivate. I chose to create Linear Instructional Material that built off of a previous video that I had made for ELLs, which covered greetings and self-introduction in English. Like the language learning content in IMA 3, this could be seen as solving a "knowledge" or a "skill deficit," depending on the learners involved in the Performance Problem Analysis. As part of the design process, we first drafted a Project Proposal and Storyboard, to help us plan our project. However, as you can see, the end result turned out to be quite different.
